Calling in Our Future Animals- Skwiki the Guinea Pig and Sadie the Guardian Dog

Many decades ago when I was in college, I missed my dog at home so much and wished for a little animal companion in my apartment. I had never had birds, but I naively wished for a cockatiel without too much thought. Not long after my wish had been put out into the Universe…the Universe answered my wishes in their very own way!

Skwiki, the Brave Guinea Pig

It felt completely random at the time, but I somehow managed to open the front door at the exact right time. As I opened the door, a beautiful black cat ran off. I spoke to the kitty and apologized for scaring her and told her she was beautiful. But…I suddenly heard a panicked squeaking sound from right under the hedge brush next to me. And right there was the cutest little black guinea pig who must have risked her life to get to my door!!!

I knew immediately this guinea pig was the little companion I had wished for. I had guinea pigs when I was in 6th grade and knew exactly how to care for them. She was safely rescued and became my most adorable companion. Her name was Skwiki. The cat had actually tried to catch her as I found a scar on her back later. Since she knew the dangers, she happily lived in a large cardboard box and never chewed through it although she easily could have. I was able to get wonderful organic veggie scraps from a farm stand nearby and some guinea pig food. She had so much personality and truly remained a very special companion. She even moved back home with me and met my dog!

I always thought about how magical this experience was. It’s truly miraculous how the Universe finds ways to fulfill our wishes. And I am so grateful they managed to orchestrate a guinea pig instead of a cockatiel as I knew immediately how to care for Skwiki. I hadn’t really thought through the cockatiel situation…

If you are an animal lover like me, we are always connected to our past, present, and future animals as well as many other animals both domestic and wild. For all of my life, I knew I was deeply connected with animals and could feel and sense them. I really didn’t know any other way of being.

Skwiki moved home with me and lived with Honey! She loved the wheatgrass cuttings from our local Coop juice bar! (picture below!)

My First Animal Communication Class

In 2018, I was in deep deep grief after my Riki transitioned. I’ve had many animals transition and it’s never easy, but Riki’s transition really hit me hard, way harder than I knew was possible. A wonderful friend mentioned an animal communication class. I was absolutely intrigued there were classes on this and decided this would be my perfect grief therapy! I signed up for some classes right away. It was truly a beautiful experience and a different way of connecting and communicating with the animals. In the class, it was taught in a bit more of a structured way which felt a bit foreign to me. But it was still super interesting and opened up many new creative possibilities in my mind.

Calling in Sadie

Fast forward a few years, and we were wishing for another livestock guardian dog since our beloved rescue had transitioned. But this was a bit more complicated since I have 2 male guardians with strong personalities and they all need to get along well. Big guardian dogs can be challenging as they are working dogs bred to have a mind of their own to make decisions and protect their flock. I knew trying to figure this out would be almost impossible- so this time, I made a very clear request.

Now with my new animal communication skills on board, I made this extra intentional. I called in the right female guardian dog in the right age range who could get along with my boys appear at the right time.

I figured this request might take some time to manifest, and it did. But a year and a half or so later (patience pays off!!! That darn divine timing…), I got a message from an old farm friend I hadn’t talked to in years. She told me she was moving and had a 4 year old female guardian dog that she would only adopt out to me!!!!!!!!! And that’s how Sadie came to our family. She could not have been more perfect for us- the boys immediately loved her and even the two boys started to get along better! She fit right into our family like she was always a part of us. The Universe truly does want to support us if we trust, believe and allow the unfolding all in divine time. And yes, the perfect animals respond to our calling every time!!!
