Comb to Beeswax

Nature is so miraculous. I am always in awe of nature’s creations. My husband does live bee rescues and relocates colonies. During the process, he puts as much of the bees’ comb as he can back in their new hive. But there are always extra pieces and damaged comb. I am now learning to process the comb into beeswax. It makes me happy to know their hard work isn’t going to waste and I can turn the wax into salves, lip balms and candles. We only use the extra comb that the bees don’t need. We also save all the wax cappings on the honey comb when we harvest the honey. Again, we only take a little bit of their honey. The bees collect nectar and produce honey so they can thrive and make it through the winter.

Here’s a video of my husband doing a bee rescue :)
