Nutritional Supplements- Are You and Your Beloved Animals Taking the Most Energetically Aligned Supplements?

As a health coach, we learned quite a bit about various supplements and benefits. But even before becoming a health coach, I have tried many different supplements when I wasn’t feeling well. In a desperate attempt to feel better, I took quite a few supplements that I researched or were recommended by my functional chiropractor. I was definitely getting benefits, but it also felt overwhelming. Eventually, my body spoke loudly and just revolted. I couldn’t hold them down any longer and threw them all up. That definitely gave me pause. 

I knew I had to figure out a much better way to be able to select the right supplements without wasting time and money. There were many brands and types of supplements that all promised so many desired health benefits. I was always interested in muscle testing because of my favorite chiropractor, Dr. Mauldin. He could muscle test what allergens I was reacting to on the day of my appointments and give me supportive remedies. It was so simple, precise, and effective. After that, I set out to learn muscle testing.  Since then, I have been doing muscle testing for all of my supplements as well as the supplements for my family, animals, and clients.

I’ll share my process and then some key findings about supplements from an energetic perspective.

A few things to note- I aim to determine the top 3-4 most aligned and beneficial supplements at a time. Less is truly more as each supplement is an energetic signal to the body to do something specific. I also do not have brand loyalties which can add in bias. 

For each type of supplement, I find a handful from different companies to test. Then I muscle test them on a scale of zero to+10, with 10 being the most energetically aligned. I also will go from zero to negative 10 if I suspect something might be problematic. This allows me to get a clearer idea of how aligned it is (compared to a simple yes or no for the supplement.)  I will also check if all the supplements being taken together are working in harmony.


Some general observations from many muscle tested supplements:



  • Single item type supplements (like magnesium) from reputable companies are relatively similar across different brands energetically assuming your body needs the supplement.

  • Combination supplements (like thyroid support) are energetically quite different. These benefit from checking for the best energetically aligned supplement specific to your current situation. Some companies do take energetics or timing of herb harvest into consideration- and these factors do affect the overall energy of the product. What you are most drawn to is usually your best bet if you don’t muscle test.

  • Each supplement has an energetic signature and is either (a) doing nothing, (b) benefiting you or (c) interfering. This information is helpful to know so you can stop wasting money on supplements that are not doing anything or are interfering.

  • Probiotics that are aligned are among the most difficult supplements to find. . If you’re not sure if a probiotic is aligned, find foods high in those probiotics. Before I used muscle testing, I once took one of the most popular and highly regarded probiotics only to gain weight and feel bloated. After about a month, I stopped taking it and the issues it created went away. When my husband had gut challenges, I tested 70 probiotics before I got a hit. He needed probiotics per my muscle testing, but most brands weren’t aligned. I kept looking and looking and eventually found the right one. Once he took a capsule, he said he could feel this was going to help- and it did. I’ve tried to find one for our dogs and none really have tested as beneficial. The supplements you are drawn to are usually the most energetically aligned ones. The supplements you have forgotten to take for the past 3 months are usually not a good match or your body needs a break from them. Your body knows.

  • Timing can matter on some supplements- so if you’re not sure, do what feels good or what you feel like doing. Our body is highly in tune and aware.

  • Just because a supplement is highly regarded and has had miraculous results for some people, that does not mean it’s aligned and beneficial for you. We are all very unique. Finding the right match can make a big difference.

  • Supplements are designed to be taken for a short time for a specific outcome and then stopped. Before you automatically re-order another bottle, take a moment to see if you feel your body still needs it.
