Saylor’s Story
Saylor is one of our large livestock guardian dogs. We adopted him in 2017 at the age of 3 years. He was always healthy but when he was about 9 years old, we noticed he was starting to struggle a bit to get up. I muscle tested the usual joint and muscle support supplements and homeopathics to see if any would be helpful- but to my disappointment, they weren’t coming up as a “yes”. It was frustrating so I said out loud “show me something that’s going to help!!!”
Funny enough, the following day, I was listening to a peptide masterclass for my human longevity coaching training. During the class, someone asked “Can you use these peptides with animals?” The answer to this question truly opened up a whole new world of possibilities for the animals and me. The speaker said, “Oh yes, I use it for my dog with a bum leg, and he does great!” I muscle tested YES to this peptide for Saylor as I wrote down- “BPC 157, good for animals, good for leg issues and more.”
I immediately ordered this peptide supplement and gave it to Saylor. I was blown away by how quickly Saylor started to move more easily. He kept improving and maintaining all the gains. I gave this supplement to him for about 5 months. I stopped after that since peptides do not need to be continued forever (they are usually cycled in and out). Now, over 2 years later, he’s 11 going on 12 and running around!!! I have been learning more about peptides and using peptides and bioregulators for our animals, myself and my family due to their safety, availability, effectiveness, and overall affordability. I feel every animal lover can benefit from knowing more about peptides and bioregulators because they allow us to be proactive in our care and the care of our animals.
Peptides Basics
What are peptides and bioregulator peptides?
Peptides are chains of 2-50 amino acids (smaller than a protein) that are important in cell signaling and function. Longer amino acid chain peptides act more like supplements and can affect more systems. For example- BPC 157 (Body Protective Compound) can support gut, muscles, inflammation and more.
Bioregulator peptides are the smallest chains of 2-4 amino acids that signal specific DNA to optimize their function, activate repair and regenerate the targeted organs and glands. These are organ/gland specific. For example- a thyroid bioregulator will modulate function. You can be hypothyroid or hyperthyroid and still take it to normalize thyroid function. Currently, there are about 21 bioregulators available through Nature’s Marvel.
How can I use them safely?
For animals, Integrative Peptides has a liquid product called Petides which makes it easier to dose smaller animals. For my dogs, I use the human version peptide BPC 157 and the appropriate bioregulators that I feel can be beneficial to them.
I only purchase oral products from two companies which I trust completely. I am constantly learning and researching, so I will update you as I find other sources that I feel are safe.
For dosing Petides, you can use the instructions on the bottle. The BPC 157 bottle instruction is for a 150lb human, so you’ll need to take this into account. I have big dogs so I just dose similar to people per the instructions. The bioregulators come in a 20-capsule box with the Nature’s Marvel brand. I usually only use 1 per day and depending on the situation, I give for 10 days and wait before giving another round. Peptides and bioregulators are signals to our animals’ bodies, so unlike supplements, you do not keep giving them forever.
I personally use peptides along with high quality nutritious foods and appropriate supplements as needed for each animal to obtain the most synergistic effects.
How do I know which ones to give?
The most logical way is to choose areas where you feel your animals need the most support and start there. You can also muscle test all the options. If you are not sure, consider starting with the Petides liquid product or human version BPC 157 from Integrative Peptides.
Where can I buy them?
I am not affiliated with any of these companies- but per my human longevity training, Integrative Peptides was recommended and I follow Dr. Kent Holtorf. They ship worldwide. They have their own combo peptides for humans, Petides line for animals, and carry two different brands of bioregulators for various organs and glands (Nature’s Marvels and Prevatalica).
This is what I used with Saylor-human version BPC 157 from Integrative Peptides, used 5 months for reference (2.5 bottles) Immediate Release (60 Caps) - Integrative Peptides
For small animals, liquid combo peptides made for animals
PetTides - Full Body Support for Small Pets - Integrative Peptides
Bioregulators, Nature’s Marvels- example from Integrative Peptides, Blood Vessel
Blood Vessel Bioregulator - Integrative Peptides
If you are in the UK, Profound-Health carries Nature’s Marvel brand bioregulators.
