Top 3 Supplements to Optimize Longevity and Healthspan for Our Beloved Animals

We all love our animals so much. We want them to stay healthy and be with us for as long as possible. Providing the best quality food possible goes a long way in achieving this. But I am always on the search for anything that will not only improve my animals’ overall health but optimize their longevity. I’m also very practical so I only try safe and reasonably affordable options after doing my research.

1. BPC-157

What it is:

BPC-157 stands for Body Protective Compound and is a peptide (amino acid chain). Peptides are important in cell signaling and function and act like supplements in that they can affect multiple systems (vs one targeted). BPC 157 can support gut, muscles, inflammation and more and can address overall wellness efficiently.

Practicality:

Easy to purchase in the USA (and I believe other countries as well)

Easy to administer as it is given orally in capsule form

Cycled (pulsed) over time in a flexible schedule so you don’t always have to keep them on it

Affordability:

Depending on the size of your animal, it’s currently about $150 per bottle which lasts 2 months for a 150lb dog. It’s so worth every penny and then some especially for the results.

My Personal Experience:

My 9 year old large guardian dog who was having trouble getting up and moving is now 12 years old running around still. I used BPC-157 for about 5 months a few years ago and didn’t use it again until more recently.

You can read Saylor’s story for more details (Saylor’s Recovery with Oral Peptides: Basic Safe Peptide Use for Animals and Humans). But as you can imagine, I decided to be proactive and have all of my animals as well as all of our human family on this. Again, it’s not something you need to take daily for months on end, especially if you are taking it to optimize your longevity and overall well-being.

Where to Source:

Be careful where you source this and make sure the company is absolutely legitimate. I currently purchase from Integrative Peptides in the USA. I am not affiliated with them but have been using their products since I did my training in Peptides and Bioregulators a few years ago. https://integrativepeptides.com/

2. Bioregulators for Pineal, Thymus, and Blood Vessel (3 used together as a stack is most potent, but you can buy each one separately)

What it is:

Bioregulator peptides are the smallest chains of  2-4 amino acids that signal specific DNA to optimize their function, activate repair and regenerate the targeted organs and glands. These are organ/gland specific. For example- a thyroid bioregulator will modulate function. You can be hypothyroid or hyperthyroid and still take it to normalize thyroid function.

Per longevity research by Dr. Bill Lawrence and Dr. Khavinson, the pineal and thymus bioregulators showed the most impact on longevity. Dr. Kent Holtolf has mentioned many times that the blood vessel bioregulator added to any combination makes everything overall better. So these 3 bioregulators would be at the top of my list if the goal is overall longevity.

Practicality:

Easy to purchase in the USA (and I believe other countries as well)

Easy to administer as it is given orally in capsule form

Cycled (pulsed) over time in a flexible schedule - can do one bioregulator in month 1, then the second in month 2, and the third in the following month. Or you can stack them all depending on the sensitivity of the animal in month one and wait a year before you repeat. Nature’s Marvel is one brand and one box is for an adult about 150 lbs. The box instruction is 2 capsules for 10 days. This can be repeated a few times a year or whatever is best for you.

Affordability:

Currently, one bioregulator box costs about $50-80 for one 10 day cycle.

My Personal Experience:

Nature’s Marvel has about 21 bioregulators, so I picked and chose the ones my animals needed most based on what I already knew about their health status. I have also used this for us humans and for me, the adrenal bioregulator has been super helpful and noticeable. I have cycled through many of them and will continue to do so as budget allows.

Where to Source:

Be careful where you source this and make sure the company is absolutely legitimate. I currently purchase the Nature’s Marvels or the Prevatalica brands from Integrative Peptides in the USA. I am not affiliated with them but have been using their products since I did my training in Peptides and Bioregulators a few years ago. https://integrativepeptides.com/  In UK, Profound Health carries the Nature’s Marvels brand Natural - Profound Health

3. Organ/Glandular Powder

What it is:

Organ/glandular powders are convenient supplement forms to add additional nutrients to our dogs’ and cats’ food. They have single organ supplements as well as combinations. The one I feel is most beneficial especially for spayed and neutered animals is the male or female specific glandular support. It helps support healthy hormones.

Practicality:

Easy to purchase in the USA (and I believe other countries as well)

Easy to add to food

Affordability:

Currently, Bark and Whiskers Male and Female Glandular Support is only about $20-$25 per jar for 4 oz and lasts me about a month for my 110 lb female dog, and the male dogs share their male glandular jar.

Also human grade organ combination powders that are pure are good options as an overall nutrient support for longevity.

My Personal Experience:

My female dog started to have spay incontinence and this has helped along with a few other supplements. Our male dog had a hard time with injury recovery and kept reinjuring his leg. I heard Dr. Peter Dobias mention his own dog had muscle injuries that wouldn’t heal and started hormone replacement therapy that improved so much. This gave me the important idea that hormones played a bigger role in muscle injury recovery. Once I started our dog on the glandular support powder, I could see visible improvements as well as more playfulness. Now, if I were to do things over again, I would have started some level of glandular support earlier for longevity and overall wellness vs right now, it’s addressing symptoms and trying to prevent further challenges.

Where to Source:

Bark and Whiskers Male Glandular Support and Bark and Whiskers Female Glandular Support- I purchased this on Vitacost when they had a supplement sale. Check online for best deals.

The male glandular has liver, cerebrum, stomach, kidney, heart, lung, pancreas, spleen, duodenum, thyroid, adrenal, thymus, testis, prostate, pituitary, hypothalamus, lymphatic. The female glandular has ovary instead of testis and prostate.

I am also planning to order some human grade ones for our dogs I just learned about…these are more expensive, so I will most likely use them in combination with the above.

Final Thoughts

Much of what I do has saved me tons of vet bills and heartache so the cost of supplements for longevity optimization is worth every penny and then some.

Just for reference, in 2026 for one 150 lb dog - once a year if we did the longevity supplements with 1 bottle of BPC 157 that will last 2 months ($150), 3 bioregulators one cycle ($170- pineal $70, the other two $50), and glandular supplement ($22 x 6 jars is $132) for a total of $452 a year, you can do quite a lot for your beloved animals. You don’t need to start with everything, you can just get the glandular supplement for $22 and get started and as you can, add one bioregulator for $50 and do this over the course of the year.

If you have more to invest into your animals’ health, I’d highly recommend looking into the other bioregulators for heart, kidney, liver and other organs and glands available and just cycle through them over time.

I’m always trying and adding new things. I have used colostrum with other animals in the past, but I will be adding this in to our dogs’ meals to see how it goes. On a funny note- I made some homemade natto known for it’s very distinct smell and texture (fermented soybeans) . Natto has so many nutrients and health benefits and I had been craving it lately. I gave my dogs a taste to see if they would eat it- and they all ate it! Current dogs aren’t finicky eaters as you can tell :)

May you and your beloved animals live long and healthy happy lives!
